Prayagraj – The Maha Kumbha Parva concluded on 26th February in the holy city of Prayagraj. During this festival, which was held from January 13th to February 26th, more than 66 crore devotees took a bath in the Triveni Sangam and the Ganga river with utmost devotion. This Maha Kumbha Parva has broken all the records of the number of devotees who have come to the Kumbha Melas so far. In fact, this has become the largest religious festival ever held in Prayagraj.

On 26th February alone, 1 crore 32 lakh devotees had taken a bath by 4 pm. The Uttar Pradesh Government had advertised this Maha Kumbha Parva as ‘Divya Bhavya Digital Maha Kumbha’. The Government had estimated that 40 to 45 crore devotees would participate in this great festival, which came after 144 years. However, the Maha Kumbha Parva received a much larger response from devotees. In a tragic accident that occurred on the day of Mauni Amavasya, i.e. the day of Amrit Snan, some devotees died. It was speculated that the influx of devotees would decrease after this accident; but even after that, crores of devotees came to confluence and took bath.
