If it weren’t for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, my name would have been Kalimuddin

Statement by BJP Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya in Madhya Pradesh at a program on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti

Indore (MP) – If Hinduism is alive today, it is because of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s contribution. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj did not allow the Mughals to enter the entire Malwa region. That is why we are Hindus today, otherwise my name would not be Kailash, but ‘Kalimuddin’, said Kailash Vijayvargiya, a minister in the BJP Government in the state. He was speaking at a program on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary.

Vijayvargiya further said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had raised an army to protect Hindu religion. At that time, that army, despite being a handful in number, defeated the Mughals, who numbered in the lakhs. There is not just one such example, but many. I am proud that we are saluting him on his birth anniversary. Today, the entire Hindu community is grateful to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. During that time, Bajirao Peshwa’s army did not allow any Mughal to enter here. This is what our history tells us.
