Mumbai – Social activist Anna Hazare on Saturday reacted to the early Delhi election result trends and expressed disappointment in Arvind Kejriwal’s regard. Hazare claimed that despite his advice against it, Kejriwal focused on liquor and didn’t adhere to the values of a candidate honest to citizens.

“I have always said that a candidate’s conduct, thoughts should be pure, life should be without a blame and with sacrifice. These qualities let voters have faith on him. I told this (to Arvind Kejriwal) but he did not pay heed, and finally, he focused on liquor controversy,” said Hazare. Anna Hazare expressed this opinion in the backdrop of the Delhi Assembly Election results.

Anna Hazare further said,

1. The financial scam that took place in Delhi through liquor contracts has made him infamous. On one hand, Arvind Kejriwal talks about the character of the people; but on the other hand, people think that he commits scams in liquor contracts.

2. When Arvind Kejriwal was with me, his intentions were pure. He had a social and national perspective. Then I thought he was a good worker; but over time I realized that Arvind Kejriwal is selfish, people should be wary of these selfish people.

3. While contesting elections, it is important for a candidate to have clean conduct, pure thoughts, a spotless life and sacrifice. If a candidate has these qualities, then voters trust him. I kept telling him repeatedly; but he did not notice and he brought alcohol. Alcohol is associated with wealth.

4. An aware voter is the basis of democracy and today’s voter has become aware. He saw that all these people think of alcohol. When alcohol comes in front of their eyes, money, wealth, wealth come. Then everything went wrong and due to this, the people gave the right vote to them. If people who behave like this come to power, the country and Delhi will be destroyed, so the voters rejected them. “He was overwhelmed by money power,” Anna Hazare told reporters. Addressing the allegations thrown around by AAP and BJP politicians against each other, Hazare noted that politics is often surrounded by accusations and counter-claims. However, he said that despite any allegations against a candidate, it is their responsibility to prove their innocence.

5. When he came with me, I had already told him that he should serve the people. Service means ‘selfless work.’ Action done without expecting results is worship of God. Keep doing this worship and no one will stop you.
