London, (United Kingdom) – British Broadcasting Corporation’s ‘BBC News’ has made fun of the ongoing Maha Kumbha Mela in Prayagraj through an article. Many Naga Sadhus took a dip during the Parva Snan.
While reporting on it, the article used the word ‘bathing spectacle’. The article was given a headline calling Naga Sadhus ‘Naked ash-smeared ascetics’; but after widespread criticism on social media, BBC removed the word ‘naked’ from the headline and changed it to ‘Ash-smeared holy men lead India bathing spectacle’.
Editorial Perspectives :
Can the BBC ever dare to make objectionable statements on pilgrimages and celebrations of other religions ? This is so only because the Hindus are tolerant. It has now become inevitable for the Hindus to take legal action against this and try to ban the BBC in India ! |
