Incident at Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) village school

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) – In Senguttaipalayam village, taluka Kinthukadavoo, Coimbatoor, a 14-year-old girl studying in 8th standard in Swami Chidbhavand Matric Higher Secondary School was asked to sit outside the classroom by the school principal due to her menstruation period. The girl took exam for 5 subjects sitting outside. The student’s mother has asked for an explanation from the school. The locals reached out to the Pollicha Sub-Divisional Magistrate to register a complaint and act against the school administration.

1.The District Magistrate of Coimbatore Pawan Kumar G. Giriyappan said, the rural Police have started investigation in this matter. Whatever comes out of the findings, action will be taken accordingly. For the time being, the facts and information will be the basis of action.

2.In November 2024 the Union government had approved of menstrual hygiene policy. This was a means to remove the hurdle of girl students coming to the school during menstruation. However, such incidents are non-conforming to the policy.

Girl students avoid going to the school for the lack of proper toilets in the schools

It has come to light that 1/4th number of girl students were not going to schools during menstruation period for the lack of toilets.

This is the consequence of ignorance about Dharmacharan. Such incidents are exploited by the so- called progressive, secular and anti-blind faith people.
