Moscow, Russia – As the global tension mounts, in the coming years, more countries are trying to acquire nuclear weapons. Consequently, the world is on the threshold of World War 3, stated Dmitry Medvedev, the former President of Russia. He has held the western countries responsible for this increasing race of nuclear weapons. The West was waging a ‘covert war’ against Russia in Ukraine. The world has increasing threat from nuclear weapons and the situation is like World War. Medvedev discussed the START agreement in 2010 between Russia and the US. This agreement was about reducing the competition of nuclear weapons between Russia and the US, signed by the then US president Barack Obama and the then Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. This contract expires in 2026.
Medvedev added, western countries are using Ukraine to weaken Russia. That has created the necessity of nuclear weapons for Russia’s national security.
According to ‘American Scientists Federation’, Russia and the US are the largest nuclear powers in the world. Both the countries have 88% of world’s nuclear weapons, followed by China, France, Britain, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea.
