(How can throwing stones at a train going to the Maha Kumbha Mela be mischievous ? Such statement by the Police Inspector is like supporting the stone pelters – Editor). Register a case of culpable homicide and take strict action against those who threw stones at Tapti Ganga Express : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

Mumbai – The incident of stone pelting on a train in Jalgaon has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. Society will never tolerate such attacks on religious pilgrims. A similar horrific incident took place in Grodha, Gujarat, in 2002, in relation to Shriram devotees going to perform the Karseva of the Shriram Temple. Similarly, stone pelting incidents have been happening on the Amarnath Yatra for many years.

If strict action is not taken against such fanatical social troublemakers in a timely manner, those who throw stones at a train today will not look back to burn a train tomorrow. Currently, some fanatic Muslims are threatening on social media that they will not allow the Kumbha Mela to take place. Now, by throwing stones at the train in this way, it seems that they have started acting. Anti-Hindu forces are working to prevent Hindus from organizing and practicing their religion during the Kumbha Mela, which will be held in the presence of crores of Hindu devotees. There is a need to register a case of culpable homicide against the culprits and take strict action, and an investigation should be conducted into the forces behind them. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has demanded that the Government should also take immediate action against the religious fanatics who post on social media that they would not allow the Kumbha Mela to take place.

Statement demanding strict action against those who threw stones at Tapti Ganga Express submitted to the Superintendent of Police in Jalgaon

Hindus submitting a statement to the Superintendent of Police on behalf of the Hindu Rashtra Coordination Committee

Stones were pelted on the Tapti Ganga Express. Attacks on Hindus travelling on religious pilgrimages have been happening in our country for many years. We must have experienced this in Jalgaon too during many festivals and celebrations like Shriram Navami, Ganesh idol immersion etc. Everyone knows how much security had to be provided for the train carrying devotees to Ayodhya last year. In such a situation, it is shocking that there was an attempt to target devotees going to the Maha Kumbha Mela in Jalgaon. The stone-pelters should be identified and strict action should be taken against them, and armed Police personnel should be provided for the safety of railway passengers, demanded the members of the Hindu Rashtra Coordination Committee in a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police in Jalgaon. This memorandum also had the names of the Home Minister and the Home Secretary.

The statement said that in July 2024, some Muslims had pelted stones on a large scale at Amalner on the Bhusawal-Surat passenger. The videos of it were circulated. At that time, a case was registered against unknown people after 2 days; but no further action was taken. Now it is understood that a case has been registered against unknown people in the case of stone pelting on Tapti Ganga.

Editorial Perspective

Hindus need not make such a demand. The Police administration is expected to take such action on its own.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Please note that such attacks are carried out only during Hindu festivals and not during the festivals of any other religion.
  • The Railway Minister should ensure that all special trains launched by Indian Railways on the occasion of Maha Kumbha Mela reach the Kumbha Kshetra safely.
  • It is worrying that such an incident has occurred regarding the Kumbha Mela pilgrims.
