‘Bangladesh will not allow anyone on its own border’A few days ago, a meeting of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Home Affairs took place. After this meeting, the Ministry’s advisor, Lieutenant General (retired) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, said, ‘Bangladesh will not allow anyone on its border. No military construction will be permitted within 150 feet of the zero line on the India-Bangladesh border’. Due to Bangladesh’s objections, India has had to halt construction at five locations across three Districts along the border.
