Enemy missiles can now be destroyed in the air itself

New Delhi – The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully completed three consecutive tests of its multi-layered ballistic missile defence system. During the tests conducted on 10 and 11 June, interceptor missiles accurately struck their designated targets. As a result, India has now acquired the capability to destroy enemy missiles while they are still airborne. With this achievement, India has joined a select group of countries possessing such advanced missile defence systems.

During the same period, the first flight test of a medium-range anti-ship missile developed for the Indian Navy was also successfully conducted. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Defence Research and Development Organisation on the achievement and stated that it would further strengthen the country’s defence preparedness and self-reliance in the defence sector.
