Ottawa (Canada) – The Jihadi terrorist organisation ‘Hizb-ut-Tahrir’ is organising a ‘Khilafah Conference’ in Canada. Initially planned for 18thJanuary in Mississauga, the event faced opposition from the city’s mayor, who called for decisive action against it. Consequently, the conference has been moved to Hamilton. The event is called “The Khilafah : Eliminating the Obstacles That Are Delaying Its Return” Additionally, it will discuss “how the rule of the Khilafah is essential for Palestine’s liberation.”

Conference organised to promote Khilafah’s rule

A Facebook post promoting the event reads, “Hizb-ut-Tahrir Canada invites you to this year’s conference. There is global outrage over the tragedies befalling Muslims, but Allah and the Messenger of Allah have already prescribed the correct method and roadmap to victory. It is only with the total and complete implementation of Islam and the establishment of Khilafah State that Muslims can regain their rightful position in the world once again.”

‘Hizb-ut-Tahrir’ banned in many countries, including India

Founded in 1953, Hizb-ut-Tahrir advocates for global Islamic governance. It is banned as a terrorist organisation in India, Israel, the UK, Germany, China, Russia, Turkey, and Bangladesh. However, it is not banned in Canada and continues to operate there.

Calls to ban Hizb-ut-Tahrir in Canada

Prominent voices, including American entrepreneur Elon Musk, have questioned why this conference is being allowed in Canada. Canadian MPs and others have criticised Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Government, stating that “Canada has become a safe haven for terrorists.” They have demanded a ban on Hizb-ut-Tahrir, along with the ban on this event.

Editorial Perspective

While the Jihadi terrorist organisation is banned in other countries, it is not banned in Canada, making it the second country after Pakistan to foster terrorism. The global community must now exert pressure on such nations.
