If we do not awaken Hindus, who else will ? : Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharyaji Maharaj

Controversy surrounding ‘Darenge To Marenge’ posters in the Kumbh Mela

Prayagraj – “The posters we have put up in the Kumbh Kshetra are meant for awareness and are entirely appropriate. If we do not awaken Hindus, who else will ?,” asked Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharyaji Maharaj of Nanijdham, Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. He was speaking at a press conference organised at the camp of the Akhil Bharatiya Shri Panch Nirvani Akhada. Present on the occasion were Shri Mahants and Mahants from the Akhil Bharatiya Shri Panch Nirmohi Akhada, Nirvani Akhada, and Digambar Akhada, representing all three Vaishnav Akhadas.

Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharyaji Maharaj highlighted the messages on the posters, which included,

1. Darenge To Marenge (If we fear, we perish)

2. Sanatan Sattvik Hai, Kayar Nahi (Sanatan is Sattvik, not coward)

3. Waqf Ke Nam Par Sampatti Ki Loot Hai, Dharmanirpeksha Bharat Me Ye Kaisi Chhoot Hai (Loot of property in the name of Waqf, What kind of secularism is this in India ?)

4. Hinduni Ek Vhave (Hindus must unite)

These posters sparked significant discussions, not only in Prayagraj but throughout Uttar Pradesh. Some critics demanded a clarification on Jagadguru’s stance, which he provided during the press conference.

Key statements by Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharyaji Maharaj,

1. Since the partition, the Hindu population in Pakistan has been consistently declining. Today, the entire world witnesses the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. While the Bangladesh issue is political, Hindus are deliberately being targeted there.

2. In Kashmir, Hindus were displaced and remain displaced even today.

3. On the other hand, it is constantly coming to light that temples were demolished and mosques were built atop. In such dire circumstances, it is our duty as Jagadguru to awaken and unite Hindus. This is precisely what we aim to achieve through these posters.

4. If we do not awaken Hindus, who will ? While Muslims, Christians, and others have their independent nations, the 100-crore strong Hindu community has none. Therefore, India must become a Hindu Rashtra.

Temples should be managed by devotees

Jagadguru emphasised, “Temples should never be brought under Government control. The administration of temples changes with the ideology of the ruling Government, which undermines the sanctity of Hindu faith. Temples should be managed solely by the devotees.” Addressing the idea of creating a ‘Sanatan Board’ akin to the Waqf Board, he remarked, ” Merely establishing a Sanatan board will not solve the issues faced by Hindus. Multiple solutions need to be explored and implemented. However, a comprehensive discussion on this will take place during the Dharma Sansad at the Kumbh, and a final decision will be made.”
