Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) : About 3000 Saints-Seers entered Prayagraj in a grand procession to mark the beginning of the Kumbh-Mela. There was a large number of Naga sadhus among them.

All sadhus had smeared their bodies with holy ash. They exhibited various war manoeuvres. Tight Police security was provided for the 5 km march. Mahamandaleshwar Shri Shri Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati Maharaj, ‘Pithadhishwar’ of Atal Akhara was riding on a silver chariot.
Devotees had crowded both sides of the route to watch the procession.
