Hindus outraged after ‘Allah’ and ‘786’ found written on Deity Durga Temple

Police file case against unknown individuals

Bareilly (UP) – A shocking incident has surfaced in which unknown individuals defaced a historic Deity Durga Temple in the city by inscribing ‘786’ and ‘Allah’ on its walls. The temple, located in the Biharipur area opposite the Ala Hazrat Dargah, is a significant religious site for the local Hindu community. Enraged by the act, local Hindus reported the matter to the Police, who registered a case against unidentified culprits and pacified the anger of Hindus.

The Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the temple and surrounding areas to identify the offenders. Authorities have promised to take stringent measures against the offenders.

Editorial Perspectives

  • If someone had inscribed sacred symbols like ‘Om’ or ‘Shri’ on a mosque or dargah, instead of outrage, there would have been calls for ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ (beheading), potentially igniting unrest not just in Bareilly or Uttar Pradesh but across the country.
  • Please note that such incidents are a result of extreme tolerance of Hindus.
