Beijing (China) – India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing. Doval had arrived to participate in the 23rd Special Representatives-level meeting between India and China. The discussions focused on several issues, including maintaining peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and restoring the bilateral relations that have been stalled for more than four years. China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Lin Jian, said that China is ready to implement agreements made with India and is sincerely willing to resolve differences.

This is the first time since 2019 that a senior Indian official has visited China. Previously, in 2019, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar had visited Beijing.

Tensions between India and China had been ongoing for four years over the border dispute in Eastern Ladakh. After two years of negotiations, on 21st October, both countries’ militaries agreed to withdraw from the disputed areas of Depsang and Demchok. Following this agreement, military forces from both countries began pulling back from these areas starting on 25th October.

Editorial Perspective

There’s no other country in the world as treacherous as China. So it’d be foolish to believe what China says and India knows this very well !
