We may be a minority today, but one day we will be a majority : Firhad Hakim, TMC

Bengal’s Trinamool Congress Government minister Firhad Hakim’s terror inducing statement towards Hindus

Kolkata – “In Bengal, we (Muslims) constitute 33% of the population, and 17% across the country. We may be a numerical minority today, but with Allah’s blessings, one day we can become the majority. If Allah wills, we can achieve this. At that time, we will not need to light candles to demand justice. We will be in a position where our voices will naturally be heard, and our calls for justice will be acknowledged,” said Firhad Hakim, a minister in the Trinamool Congress Government in Bengal, during an event. The BJP has criticised Hakim’s statement.

Hakim further stated, “The number of Muslim judges in the judiciary should increase. This gap can be addressed through empowerment and hard work. We believe that members of the minority community work alongside others for the progress of the nation.”

Such statements could lead to a Bangladesh-like situation in India – Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar

Union Minister and Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar accused Hakim of openly inciting religious hatred and pushing a dangerous agenda. He remarked, “This is not just hate-speech. Such statements can create a Bangladesh-like situation in India. Why is the INDI Alliance silent on this ? I challenge them to express their opinion. Our nation will not tolerate threats to its unity and integrity.”

The situation is extremely concerning – BJP Leader Amit Malviya

Amit Malviya, head of BJP’s IT cell, criticised Hakim’s remarks, saying, “Firhad Hakim has claimed that Bengal will soon have a Muslim majority. He envisions a future where Muslims no longer rely on peaceful protests or demonstrations but instead take the law into their own hands. He appears to be alluding to Sharia law. This situation is highly alarming.”

Malviya also pointed out that large parts of Kolkata, especially slum areas dominated by illegal immigrants, including Rohingyas, are under their influence. Hakim’s statement, he argued, hints at a potential increase in illegal migration, which could lead to demographic shifts.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Once Muslims reach a majority in Bengal, then what is going on in Bangladesh will happen in Bengal and Mamata Banerjee will have to leave Bengal and seek refuge in other states.
  • Before this happens, the Hindus in Bengal should wake up and try to establish a Hindu Government. The fact that a minister in the State Government openly makes such a statement, makes their mindset and aim crystal clear. We can now only hope that the Hindus who are in the grip of this pantheism will soon come to their senses.
