Pictures removed to cover up crime by colluding with the Police; HJS demands action
New Delhi – In the exhibition named ‘Hussain: The Timeless Modernist’ at ‘Delhi Art Gallery’, anti-Hindu painter M.F. Hussain’s nude and offensive pictures of Hindu Deities were displayed. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had demanded that the objectionable pictures be removed immediately and legal action be taken against the directors of the Delhi Art Gallery. In this regard, advocate Amita Sachdeva on behalf of the HJS filed a complaint on December 9th at ‘Sansad Marg Police Station’ in Delhi. The offensive pictures were subsequently removed by the organizers overnight and they pretended there were no such pictures. “After our complaint, the offensive pictures were removed. Although this has been achieved, we will continue this fight until action is taken against the organizers,” said the spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Narendra Surve. Surve also stated that devout Hindu lawyers, organisations and HJS fought unitedly, achieving success in this case.

Evidence of paintings displayed in the art gallery
Even though the organizers claimed to the Police that there were no such pictures; we have photographs of those paintings and other proofs. The organizers have deliberately tried to destroy the evidence by removing the pictures overnight to cover up their crime. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti lodged another complaint in this context at the Sansad Marg Police Station and demanded that the CCTV footage in the art gallery be checked.

What was in the pictures ?
One of the paintings in this exhibition displayed a naked woman (one of the Goddesses Riddhi/Siddhi) sitting on Deity Shri Ganesh’s lap. Another painting displayed Deity Hanuman flying with naked Goddess Sita in one hand. One painting depicted a highly offensive scene of a headless Deity Shiva with a naked woman on his lap. These pictures were intended to hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and the HJS has demanded that a case be registered against the organizers under Section 295 (a) of the Bharatita Nyaya Sanhita and Section 299 of the Bharatita Nyaya Sanhita. If the same thing had happened with respect to the Deities of other religions, there would have been riots in Delhi, and slogans of ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ (Beheading) would have been raised, Surve said at this time.
1,250 complaints were filed against Hussain
Even earlier, the anti-Hindu painter M.F. Hussain had hurt the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus by painting nude and obscene pictures of Mother India and Hindu Deities. More than 1,250 complaints were filed against him in Police stations across the country. Hussain then fled the country and died in Qatar in the year 2011.
Senior Advocate Makrand Adkar of the Supreme Court, Advocate Shantanu, Advocate Kesari, Advocate Vikram, Advocate Yadvendra, President of Sanatan Swabhiman Sabha Brijesh Sharma and spokesperson of the HJS Narendra Surve participated.
Editorial PerspectiveStrict action must be taken against the concerned in this case. Hindus think that such incidents should not happen when the Delhi Police comes under the jurisdiction of Union Government. |
