Mumbai:Hindu brethren celebrated Deepotsava (festival of lamps) on the auspicious occasion of Tripurari Purnima this year too, by lighting lamps at temples and homes. For this, Tripurs (pillars of lamps) were lighted at different places in the nation. The speciality of this year’s Deepotsava was the awareness created by Hindu
Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). With its unique initiative to light One Lamp for Hindu Rashtra with the resolve to form a Hindu Rashtra. This initiative was undertaken in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Delhi, U.P., Jharkhand, Bengal and other states. Representatives of different organisations working for the Hindu cause, Hindu loyalists and devotees participated in this activity.
The annihilation of the demon Tripurasur by Shankara is celebrated as Tripurari Purnima on Kartik Purnima day. It is celebrated in temples throughout India to symbolise the victory of nobility over the demonic forces.

One Lamp for Hindu Rashtra campaign upholds the altruistic motive of creating awareness to eradicate the detrimental tendencies in today’s society and to establish the welfare state of Hindu Rashtra. Hindu loyalists who participated in this activity, by lighting lamps at home and in temples, held placards of One Lamp for Hindu Rashtra to awaken the same spirit among the people.
At some places, an oath to create a Hindu Rashtra was administered along with the communal lighting of lamps. This whole initiative became popular even on social media.
