Protest march in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) by ‘Hindu Makkal Katchi’ against the attacks on Brahmins

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) – The ‘Hindu Makkal Katchi’ organised a protest march in Chennai on 3rd November 2024, demanding protection to Brahmins and prevention of attacks on the Brahmin community. Leaders from various Hindu organisations participated in this event and spoke about the issues faced by Brahmins, especially in Tamil Nadu. Leaders like Arjun Sampath from the Hindu Makkal Katchi, BJP leaders, and leaders from ‘Patali Makkal Katchi’ expressed their thoughts. BJP leader Karu Nagarajan, BJP councillor Uma Anandan, Shivacharyas, Battacharyas, and priests attended the programme in large numbers, along with members of the Tamil Nadu Brahmin Association.

A resolution was passed condemning the incidents of attacks on Brahmins. A demand was also made to the Governor to register cases under the Protection of Civil Rights (PCR) Act against those defaming the Brahmin community.

More than 5,000 people attended the event, with a large presence from the Brahmin community. Pujya (Mrs.) Uma Ravichandran, Nandakumar, and Jayakumar were also present representing Sanatan Sanstha.
