First Diwali celebrated after the construction of Shriram Mandir in Ayodhya

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) – 500 years of the struggle of Hindus to reclaim the birthplace of Shriram culminated with Prana Pratishtha of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya making Diwali even more special for Hindus across the world, especially for the city of Ayodhya.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared it a grand festival and invited everyone to join in and the people of Ayodhya showed great enthusiasm to celebrate Diwali in a grand manner to welcome Prabhu Shriram.

Also, 28 lakh lamps will be planted daily at Ram Ki Paudi on the banks of Sharyu River here. Lights are being installed on 55 ghats. It has started from October 30 itself. Also ‘Laser Show’ has been organized here. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present for this Deepotsav.

The first Diwali was celebrated after the construction of the magnificent Shriram Mandir at the birthplace of Shriram here. Ayodhya was decorated like a new bride, with every corner lit up with diyas, candles and artificial lights. a new Guinness World Record was set by lighting 25,12,585 diyas on Ram ki Paidi and 54 additional Banks along the Saryu River, surpassing the previous record of 22.23 lakh diyas set in 2023. The Department of Tourism, Uttar Pradesh, also registered another Guinness World Record, when a total of 1,121 people performed Arati simultaneously on the Banks of Saryu River.

The event included a laser and drone show illustrating scenes from the Ramayana. Cultural performances were presented by artists from six countries – Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Indonesia – alongside a Ram Leela performance by artists from Uttarakhand.

Prime Minister Modi said in a post in Hindi on X : ‘Divine Ayodhya ! This is the first Diwali after the consecration ceremony of Lord Shriram, the epitome of virtues, in His magnificent Mandir. The unique beauty of Shriram Lalla’s Mandir in Ayodhya is going to overwhelm everyone. After 500 years, this auspicious moment has arrived with the countless sacrifices and penance of Ram devotees. It is our good fortune that all of us are witnesses to this historic occasion”.

He added, “I am confident that the life of Lord Shriram and His ideals will continue to be an inspiration for the people of the country in achieving the resolution of a developed India”.
