Los Angeles (USA) – “Bangladesh’s minority Hindus, Buddhists and tribals are facing the genocide. In such a situation we cannot sit idle. We will stand firmly behind them to prevent their genocide,” assured Kali Pradeep Chaudhury, Founder Chairman of KPC Group of Companies. The ‘World Hindu Federation’ informed ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ that Mr Chaudhury was speaking as the chief guest at an international conference organized to raise the issue of ‘Genocide of Minority Hindus, Buddhists and Tribals in Bangladesh’ here on October 26.
The conference was jointly organized by ‘Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist and Christian Unity Council’, ‘World Hindu Federation’, ‘Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities’ and ‘World Buddhist Federation’. US Representative Raja Krishnamoorthy was the co-chairman of this conference. Swami Subhanand Puri was the convenor as well as facilitator of the meeting. The conference was attended by leaders of various organizations and human rights activists from around the world. Religious leader Swami Ramnath Mishra of Pakistan, Chinmay Krishna Das Brahmachari of Bangladesh, Bipulanand Thero of the US also attended the conference.
This conference was addressed by US Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, human rights advocate Richard L. Benkin, Dhiman Dev Chaudhary, Turney Ashok Karmakar, Shradhanand Seetal, Shyamal Mazumdar, Dr. Kanda Swamy, Ashu Mongia, Richa Gautam, Chitra Paul from Sweden, Advocate Rana Dasgupta from Bangladesh, Deepan Mitra from France etc.
Speaking on this occasion, all the speakers expressed concern about brutal attacks on Hindus, Buddhists and tribals in Bangladesh, vandalism of temples and idols, kidnapping, rape and conversion of Hindu, Buddhist and tribal girls, burning of houses and grabbing of properties. They mentioned that Hindus all over the world are concerned about the situation of minorities in Bangladesh. All the speakers called on the head of Bangladesh’s interim Government, Muhammad Yunus, to stop atrocities on minorities and take concrete initiatives to preserve their human rights.
