Why is the phrase ‘Vasana ke Pujari’ used and not ‘Vasana ke Padri’ or ‘Vasana ke Maulana’ ? : Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri

Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri,

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh) – Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, Chief of Bageshwar Dham, has asked why the phrase ‘Vasana ke Pujari’ (Lustful Hindu priests) is used and not ‘Vasana ke Padri’ (Lustful Christian clergy) or ‘Vasana ke Maulana’ (Lustful Islamic teachers). He is being criticised by some pseudo-seculars for this statement.

Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri said the following :

1. The position of a pujari (Priest) is very important in Sanatan Dharma. They are being portrayed as lustful and are being targeted.

2. Hindus mock the traditions and customs of their own Dharma; but people of other religions and sects never do so. Muslims never insult their maulvis. Hindus, however, insult Hindu Saints and shrines.

3. Many Hindus criticise the spiritual organisations or temples run by Hindu religious guides as a bunch of hypocrites.

4. We must follow traditions mentioned in our Dharma. These traditions are our identity. It is our duty to preserve them.

5. When I asked in a gathering that when not all pujaris are lustful, why are they only being targeted. I did not say anything to target any religion. Yet, a maulvi had objected to my question.

(Hindu Saints, Mahants, Gurus and Priests are criticised in India through films, mass media, etc. On the contrary, nothing is said about the maulanas or clergy who are involved in many lustful activities. Effective Hindu unity is necessary to stop the insult of Hindu Saints. – Editor)

On the occasion of Sarvapitri Amavasya, a cleanliness drive was undertaken in Siddha Kshetra Bageshwar Dham, through which the importance of cleanliness was communicated.
