Pro-Palestinian supporters hoist Palestine flag on Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s statue in Canada

Brampton (Canada) – A video of masked protesters putting a Palestine flag and the country’s traditional scarf, keffiyeh, on a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Brampton, Canada, has drawn condemnation from pro-Israel handles on X. The 37 second clip, shared on 28th September, shows two masked individuals standing on the statue’s platform. They appear to tie a keffiyeh around the horse while holding a flag of Palestine. The entire matter has been reported to the Canadian Police and the Police are investigating.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh was the Maharaja of Punjab in the 18th century. He did not even allow the British to roam around his empire during his 40-year reign.
