Chennai (Tamil Nadu): The DMK Government in the State has transferred the headmaster of the Ashok Nagar Girls’ School, a Government institution, for organising a spiritual awakening class. Additionally, Mahavishnu, the speaker who delivered the lecture during the class, was arrested by Tamil Nadu Police at Chennai airport.

1. Mahavishnu, a speaker from the NGO ‘Paramporul Foundation,’ gave a lecture at the school on topics such as Dharma, virtue, sin, and temples. He mentioned that, “People receive punishment for their past deeds in this very life. The Gurukul system allowed education based on varna and gender, but the British ended it. Some Shlokas (verses) can cause rain of fire and heal diseases. These were written by our ancestors in scriptures, but the British erased them.”

2. After a video of Mahavishnu’s lecture went viral on social media, activists from the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), who belong to extremist political groups, protested. The Government was alerted to the situation, prompting the education ministry to transfer the headmaster. (The DMK Government dancing to the tune of extremist political parties – Editor).

3. Following the incident, Education Minister Anbil Mahesh visited the school. He stated that, “An investigation would be conducted to determine who gave permission for this event. A committee has been formed for this purpose, and action will be taken based on the report within two days.”

Only science is needed in education system : Chief Minister M K Stalin

Chief Minister M K Stalin stated, “Our school textbooks cover scientific subjects. Students should read and learn from them. Only science is needed in our education system, which will lead to the development of students. Teachers can also contribute to the progress of students by bringing in new ideas. I have issued new guidelines for programmes held in all the schools in the State. The students in our schools are the future of Tamil Nadu.
