1. Seekers should chant Deity Datta’s Name : In today’s times, many seekers are suffering from distress caused by negative energies in some form or the other. Since this distress intensifies during Pitrupaksha (18th September to 2nd October 2024), seekers should chant ‘Om Om Shri Gurudev Datta Om’ for at least an hour every day during this period. This chant is available at :

2. Seekers who perform spiritual remedies to eliminate the distress caused by negative energies should chant the Name of Deity Datta for at least an hour in addition to the spiritual remedies. Seekers should join the fingertips (bring your fingers together, with the tips touching and pointing towards specific chakras) and perform Nyas at the Anahat-chakra near the heart and at the Manipur-chakra at the navel, just below the rib cage. Those who do not perform spiritual remedies should ensure that they chant Deity Datta’s Name during this period. For this, they should plan to chant for one hour daily during their regular chores, etc. However, if they experience distress caused by their departed ancestors, they should chant Deity Datta’s Name seated in one place and perform Nyas as explained above.
3. Seekers should pray to Deity Datta intermittently during the day and seek protection against distress caused by departed ancestors during the Pitrupaksha.
4. If possible, seekers should perform the Shraddha ritual during the Pitrupaksha.
If seekers follow these guidelines, they will be able to eliminate the distress caused by their departed ancestors. Moreover, the departed ancestors will bless them for their spiritual practice.
