Hazaribagh (Jharkhand) – On April 13th , during a religious procession held as part of the 9-day Sri Sri Shatchandi Mahayagya in Jhurzuri village, a sudden outbreak of stone-pelting led to chaos. Several women participating in the procession were injured. The incident also involved acts of arson, further escalating tensions in the area. In response, local Hindus staged a protest by blocking the road, demanding immediate and strict action against those responsible for the violence. Police intervened and managed to disperse the protesters after persuading them to clear the blockade. (When the police, instead of acting against the fanatic Muslims of the violence, focus on pacifying the victims and sending them home, one must question whether such a force can truly uphold law and order. And if these very officers are attacked by fanatics tomorrow, will any action be taken then ? – Editor)
