Israel, Hezbollah on brink of all-out war after Golan Heights rocket attack killing 12 Israeli children

‘Exercise caution, avoid travel’ – Indian Embassy in Beirut issues advisory

Hezbollah terrorist organization

Gaza/Tel Aviv (Israel) – The likelihood of war between the terrorist organisation Hezbollah in Lebanon and Israel has increased. In light of this, India has issued an advisory for its citizens in Lebanon. The Indian Embassy in the capital, Beirut, has advised Indian citizens residing in and travelling to the country to exercise caution.

Hezbollah attacked the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights a few days ago, resulting in the death of 12 Israeli citizens. In retaliation, the Israeli army bombed villages and towns in southern and eastern Lebanon. Israel is preparing for a large-scale attack on Hezbollah, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened a security cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, Iran has also openly threatened Israel with war in this regard.

In Israeli drone attacks on Lebanon, two people were killed, and three were injured. In the wake of Israel’s attacks, air services in Lebanon have been suspended. Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport is the only airport in Lebanon. This airport was targeted during previous wars as well.

About Hezbollah

The term Hezbollah means ‘Party of God.’ The organisation describes itself as a political, military, and social organisation of Shia Muslims. It is a powerful organisation in Lebanon, and many countries, including the United States, have designated it a terrorist organisation.

In the early 1980s, when Israel occupied Lebanon, this organisation came into existence with the help of Iran. Hamas is a Sunni Muslim Palestinian terrorist organisation, while the Iran-supported Hezbollah is a Shia Muslim terrorist organisation. Despite their differences, both organisations are united against Israel.
