Dawood Shaikh, the main accused in the Uran murder case, arrested in Karnataka

Uran (District Raigad) – A man Dawood Sheikh was arrested for killing a 21-year-old Yashashri Shinde, whose body was found in the bushes near a railway station in Navi Mumbai’s Uran. Dawood Shaikh was arrested in Karnataka’s Shahpur Hill area after a two- day manhunt by Maharashtra Police. Another young man named Mohsin has also been arrested along with him. Seven teams of Navi Mumbai Police were searching for Dawood. Dawood Shaikh was absconding since Yashashri’s murder. He was constantly changing his location.

The Police have received the CCTV footage of Yashashri Shinde before her murder. In it, Yashashri Shinde is seen carrying a black umbrella in her hand. Police said that Dawood Shaikh was seen going after her in just 10 minutes.

Yashashri was killed mercilessly !

The preliminary autopsy report of Yashashri Shinde revealed that there were multiple stab injuries on her stomach and back. Her face was also smashed. Yashashri sustained three stab wounds on her waist and back. Reports revealed numerous injuries to her private parts, broken bones, and additional stab wounds on her stomach and back. Her chest also bore several injury marks.

According to Police, Dawood killed Yashashri Shinde out of one-sided love

According to the crime branch officer, “Dawood confessed that he killed Yashashri Shinde as she had rejected advances several years ago and suspected that she was in relationship with another youth. Dawood was angry with her. Due to this, he killed her.” A crime branch official said, ” Dawood came to Uran on 22ndJuly and his phone was switched off from 25thJuly.” Police said, “His social media also showed that he was depressed.”

“Dawood was living in Uran for many days. He was living in Karnataka during the Corona pandemic. He was working as a driver there. He changed job in one- two places. We are also collecting other information about him”, said the Police.
