Chaibasa (Jharkhand) – Four Maoists (including a female) were killed in an encounter between security forces and Maoists in the early hours of June 17 in the western Singhbhum district of the state. Two people who were trying to escape have been arrested. Inspector General of Police Amol Homkar informed that the encounter occurred in the Lipunga division, 200 km from Ranchi, the capital. Rifles, pistols, and other weapons have been seized during the search operation.
Maoists are now active only in certain areas due to continuous operations by security forces. Among the slain Maoists, a reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced on Kande Honhaga, Rs 10 lakh on Singhrai and Rs 2 lakh on Surya.
