Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated Narendra Modi after taking oath as Prime Minister on 9th June. Basically, it was clear that Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister again after the result of the Lok Sabha election on 4th June. The US, Russia and other countries also congratulated Modi; but Prime Minister of Pakistan has congratulated only after 5 days. Prime Minister Sharif was not invited by India for Modi’s oath ceremony.
Before the oath ceremony, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch was asked, ‘Has Pakistan congratulated Prime Minister Modi for becoming Prime Minister for the third time ?’ She said, ‘The new Government has not been officially sworn in yet. So it would be too early to talk about congratulating the Indian Prime Minister.’
