SC rejects his petition demanding extension of interim bail on medical grounds

New Delhi – Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister and an accused in the liquor scam, is presently out on bail for the Lok Sabha election campaigning. He had asked for an extension of 7 days in interim bail, but the Supreme Court has rejected it. Hence, Kejriwal will have to return to Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 2nd June.

It is reported that Arvind Kejriwal has suddenly lost weight. This is a possible symptom of kidney damage, serious heart-disease or even cancer. Due to this concern, other medical examinations need to be done. Hence Kejriwal demanded an extension of 7 days in the interim bail. He requested permission to return to Tihar jail on 9th June instead of 2nd June, but the Supreme Court refused the request.
