Pali (Rajasthan) – An incident of rape of a 19-year-old girl has come to light in the area of Nana police station in tribal Pali sub-division here. A Maulavi of a mosque here called the girl to the mosque on the pretext of work and raped her. As the girl did not return home, the family started a search. When the family reached the mosque, they found the Maulavi with the girl in a locked room. A case was registered after the enraged family complained to the cleric at the police station.
The 19-year-old victim has said in the complaint that Maulavi Abdul Ghani used to come to their house regularly. When Maulavi came home on the afternoon of May 2, he asked the victim to come to the mosque on the evening of May 3, on the pretext of giving her a job. After she went to the mosque, the Maulavi took her to a room and raped her. He also threatened to kill the family if she told anyone.
