Hindu students prohibited from applying tilak in a school in Indore (Madhya Pradesh)
Indore (Madhya Pradesh) – During Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s darbar, a woman voiced her concern about Hindu students being prohibited from wearing tilaks and tying sacred threads on their wrists at a school. Dhirendra Shastri replied, “In India, everyone has the right to practice their religion as guaranteed by the Constitution. But the management of ‘Matrubhumi School’ does not agree to this. Ask the school authorities whether they wish to run the school in India or West Indies.” He advised Hindus to take legal action against the school if necessary. Subsequently, members of Hindu organisations visited the school and recited the Hanuman Chalisa.
Sandhya, a female teacher at Matrubhoomi School in Indore’s ‘Scheme No. 78’, reportedly verbally abused a boy who had come to school wearing a tilak and tied a sacred thread around his wrist. The students shared this incident with their families, prompting one of the parents to bring it to the attention of Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri during his ongoing darbar.
