The two Supreme Court judges gave different opinions on the petition filed with the Supreme Court challenging the ban imposed on hijab in the educational institutes Karnataka; therefore, the matter has been now sent to the Chief Justice.
An issue of a student not given permission to wear hijab
The High Court of Karnataka has upheld the Karnataka Government’s decision to ban the hijab in all schools and colleges across Karnataka. However, a petition has been filed against it in the Supreme Court.
Even though India is a so-called secular country, it is noted that here the Hijab is not optional but compulsory.
There is a ban on the use of hijab for Muslim girl students in the educational institutes in Karnataka. The decision was challenged in Karnataka High Court, but the Court upheld the Government’s order.
In the last 75 years, all the ruling parties have appeased the Muslims to bring them into the mainstream. But it has been said that ‘a dog’s tail can never be straightened’. The above incident is an ideal example of this.
Why does nobody call these students fundamentalists ? Or secularists, etc. feel students are not ?
Please note that when the Court has denied permission for wearing a hijab, making this demand is a contempt of the Court.
In many Islamic countries like Egypt, Tunisia and Kosovo, wearing a burqa in public places is banned. In light of this incident, India should impose a similar ban.
