
Agartala (Tripura) – In 2024, the Border Security Force (BSF) arrested 623 Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals trying to enter India. BSF Inspector General Piyush Purushottam Das provided this information during a recent meeting with Tripura MP Kirti Deb Burma. Of the detained individuals, 52 are Rohingya, and 571 are Bangladeshi. The BSF also seized narcotics worth Rs 87 crore from these individuals.
The BSF has increased patrolling along the Tripura-Bangladesh border and is coordinating with State Police too. Additionally, Tripura Police arrested 50 Rohingya and
Bangladeshi infiltrators at Agartala railway station in 2024.
