
Kathmandu, Nepal – The demand for the reinstatement of the Monarchy and Hindu Rashtra has gained momentum in Nepal. Hundreds of agitators took to the streets in Kathmandu demanding the reinstatement of the Monarchy. Clashes broke out between the Police and the protesters. The police resorted to lathi charges to push back the agitators.
King Gyanendra was removed from power in the year 2008. His supporters tried to march to the Prime Minister’s office and other major government departments. The rally was organised by the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party. The protesters were shouting chants of “Bring back the Monarchy, abolish the Republic. The protesters claimed, “We love our King and the Nation more than our lives.”
