Thousands of people protest against Netanyahu across 50 locations in Israel

Demand Netanyahu’s resignation and the release of Israeli hostages

Tel Aviv (Israel) – There is a lot of public anger against Prime Minister Netanyahu and his Government in Israel. On 6^th April, thousands of protesters took to the streets across 50 locations, including Tel Aviv, to demonstrate against the Government. The protesters demanded the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas, Netanyahu’s resignation and immediate elections in the country.

1. There were also clashes between the Police and the protestors in Tel Aviv. A four- wheeler crushed some of the protesters. 5 people were injured in this.

2. People also marched outside Prime Minister Netanyahu’s private residence in the Israeli city of Caesarea. Placards held by the protesters read ‘Elad, forgive us’. In January, the ‘Palestine Islamic Jihad’ organisation killed an Israeli hostage named Ilad Katzir. His body was found on 5 ^th April.

3. Hamas attacked on 7 ^th October 2023 and took 253 hostages. Of them, about 130 Israeli citizens are still held captive by Hamas.

Editorial Perspective

Even though Hamas is being retaliated for the past 6 months, Israel is still not able to release the hostages. Indians should take note of the outrage of the patriotic citizens.
