

New Delhi – In the context of the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party released its election manifesto on 5th April. This manifesto has made various assurances for labour, women, education, farmers, etc. More importantly, an assurance has also been given to provide jobs to around 30 lakh youth. This manifesto was released at a press conference held in Delhi. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and various leaders were present.
Some points from the Congress Manifesto :
1. Filling nearly 30 lakh vacancies in sanctioned posts at various levels in the Central Government.
2. Ten per cent quota in jobs, educational institutions for EWS will be implemented for all castes, communities.
3. A constitutional amendment to raise 50 per cent cap on reservations for SC, ST and OBC communities.
4. Scrapping contractualisation of regular jobs in Government, PSUs and ensure regularisation of such appointments.
5. Launch of the Mahalakshmi scheme to provide Rs 1 lakh per year to every poor Indian family.
6. Legal guarantee to Minimum Support Prices (MSP).
7. Replacing the GST laws enacted by the BJP/NDA Government with GST 2.0.
8. To introduce accident insurance scheme for workers who are not members of any union.
9. The prices of gas cylinders, as well as petrol and diesel will be reduced.
10. Scrapping the Agnipath Scheme
11. Immediately restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.
