New Sainik schools have not been given to BJP, RSS affiliates to run : Clarifies Union Government

New Delhi – The Defence Ministry has refuted the report that claimed the administration of new Sainik schools has been given to BJP, RSS affiliates. The Defence Ministry said that the published articles accusing the same are totally baseless. They have received more than 500 applications, of which 45 applications have been approved. The selection is not affected by the political or ideological inclination of the applicant. It is wrong to play politics over this and spread misconception about the process.

The online news portal ‘The Reporters’ Collective’ in its report has said that the Union Government has given the administration of 62% of the new Sainik schools to people connected with the RSS or the BJP leaders.

100 Sainik schools will be started in the first phase

The Union Government has planned starting 100 Sainik schools in the first phase. The Government partnered with many organisations like NGOs, State Governments, and Private Educational Institutions under this.  The Government said that the schools will be given temporary recognition and it will be confirmed after the annual inspection. This means that any organisation or person may be permitted to run the school, only if they complete the necessary requirements.
