Ramnavami declared as holiday due to BJP’s pressure, BJP claims
Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Suvendu Adhikari has claimed that the Mamata Banerjee Government took the decision of declaring Ramnavami a public holiday under the pressure of BJP. Adhikari wrote on X that in January he had criticised the State Government for not declaring a holiday on Ramnavami, and today the Government was forced to do it.
Amit Malviya, head of BJP’s IT Department and party’s central observer for Bengal, said that Mamata Banerjee has taken this step to improve her anti-Hindu image. Although it is too late, the important thing is that she should take care no stone pelting happens during the Ramnavami procession.
