Islamic State responsible for the bomb blast in Bengaluru’s cafe

  • NIA conducted raids at 17 locations across 7 States
  • 5 suspects detained in Chennai

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids at 17 locations across 7 States in connection with the bomb blast at the renowned Rameshwaram Cafe on 1st March. The investigation has unveiled the involvement of the Islamic State in this case.

1. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a raid at the residence of T Nazir in Bangalore’s R T Nagar, who is allegedly associated with the Islamic State. Nazir is suspected to have played a role in instigating the bomb blast.

2. Earlier, the NIA had also conducted raids in the R T Nagar and Sultanpaliya areas in connection with a case involving hand grenades. During the operation, live cartridges and grenades were seized from these locations.

3. The mastermind behind the bomb blast, believed to be a person named Junaid, is currently incarcerated for money laundering. The NIA visited the jail to interrogate him as part of the ongoing investigation.

4. Additionally, the residence of Shamshuddin in Ramanathapuram, Chennai, was also raided. Subsequently, 5 individuals were apprehended from Siddharpet and Bidyar in Chennai.
