Government school teacher suspended for drinking alcohol in school in Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh)

Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) – A video of a drunk primary school teacher in Bilaspur named Santosh Kewat has gone viral on social media. He was consuming alcohol in the school. In the video he is saying ‘Does anyone want alcohol ? Tell me. Neither the school authority nor the administration can do anything to me.’ The video is from Masturi Block’s Machaha Primary School. The District Education Officer took cognisance of this viral video and
ordered an inquiry into the drunkard teacher. After inquiry, it was found that the incident was true. The District Education Officer suspended the drunk teacher, also a criminal case has been registered against him.

1. It was reported that the teacher Santosh Kumar Kewat arrived in the school in an inebriated state. At that time, he had a bottle of alcohol in his pocket. He was behaving awkwardly in front of the students and so a man took his video. The drunk teacher went close to the students standing in a row for the prayers. First, he told them ‘Now go home, school is over’. Then he took the students towards the classroom. Later, he took his lunch and went to the staff room. Then he took out the bottle of alcohol and began to drink from it in front of the Headmistress Tulsi Chauhan without any hesitation.

2. While making the video of this, the video recorder asked Santosh Kumar Kewat about the alcohol bottle. Kewat replied ‘it is my choice. I will do anything I desire. What is your problem ? I drink every day. There is no problem. I have everything. I am not afraid of anyone. There is a lot of stress in my life.’

What will a teacher, who is an addict himself, teach his students ? Such teachers are playing with the future of their students. They should be arrested and imprisoned.
