The religious sentiments of the Hindus hurt because of calling Bihar’s Chief Minister ‘Palturam’

Denigration of Shriram in a Jalgaon newspaper

Jalgaon, Maharashtra – On the 23rd of January in the daily ‘Lokshahi’, a cartoon denigrating Shriram was published. This daily ‘Lokshahi’ is published from Jalgaon. In it, there was a caricature of Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, where he is being addressed as ‘Palturam’. And a person is shown looking at the caricature and saying, ‘whatever it may be, now he too is our ‘Ram’. (Would they have dared to do this in the case of the other religions ? The Daily ‘Lokshahi’ should answer this question. – Editor). Instead of ‘Palturam’ they could have written ‘Paltu Bhaiyya’ or ‘Paltu Neta ’ in the cartoon. Their action has hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus. The Hindus have demanded that the Daily ‘Lokshahi’ should apologise to the Hindus. They have appealed to the people to boycott the Daily Lokshahi for this denigration.

In Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar left the RJD-Congress alliance and resigned. Then he joined the BJP’s NDA and again formed the Government. His caricature was drawn because he left one alliance and joined another.

Editorial Perspective

Hurting of Hindu religious sentiment is still happening even though the Hindus have united under a huge divine banner. Taking note of this, the Hindus must take legal means to question the concerned individuals. Otherwise, these incidents will not stop !
