San Francisco (US) – Taiwan will be connected to mainland China soon. We are trying to merge Taiwan into China through peaceful means. Chinese President Xi Jinping said that they do not want to use any force or pressurise Taiwan. He was speaking at a summit held here. Many officials of the US and China were present at this summit. It is likely that the two leaders discussed the Israel-Hamas war and Taiwan.
The US has recently offered military aid to Taiwan. This has strained the relationship between the US and China.
Recently, the US had said that ‘China will gain control over Taiwan by 2025 or 2027’. China had some heated arguments with the US after hearing this. According to some officials, Xi Jinping clarified that the date announced by the US was wrong and the time has not yet been fixed for taking control of Taiwan.
On the other hand, some Chinese officials said that the US supports China’s goal of peaceful reunification with Taiwan. The White House, however, has denied this report.
