New Delhi – “Don’t trust things that harm you. Tell me one thing, if somewhere our people are killed just by going to a temple, if somewhere our youth are killed just for touching an idol, then why do you go to a place where you are insulted ?.You should stop going to those places where your daughters and sisters are raped and killed”, such an anti-Hindu statement was made by Delhi AAP MLA Rajendra Paul Gautam. A video of his statement has gone viral on social media. This 30-second video captures Rajendra Pal Gautam addressing the audience at an event held in Laharada village, Sonipat, Haryana.

Why doesn’t Kejriwal remove Rajendra Pal Gautam from the party ? – BJP

Reacting to this, BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia asked, “Why hasn’t Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal, who calls himself a staunch ‘Hanuman devotee’, taken action against Rajendra Paul Gautam for repeatedly insulting Hindu Dharma and expelled him from the party?”

Rajendra Pal Gautam had lost ministerial position due to his involvement in a programme against Hindu Dharma

Rajendra Pal Gautam has criticised Hindu Dharma on multiple occasions in the past. In October 2022, he was dismissed from his ministerial post for his involvement in anti-Hindu events. In this programme, 10,000 Hindus were converted to Buddhism. In this event, they took an oath that, I do not believe that Lord Buddha is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. I believe this to be sheer madness and false propaganda. I will not perform ‘Shraddha’ and ‘Pindadaan’. I will not accept any ceremony to be performed by Brahmins. I am renouncing Hindu Dharma because it is harmful to humanity and hinders development. It is based on inequality. I am embracing Buddhism”.

In November 2022, Rajendra Pal Gautam, during an interview with the news site ‘The Wire’, stated, “110 crore people belong to Scheduled Castes and Tribes in this country. They will all convert to Buddhism in the next 5-6 years and then we will see who becomes the majority?”

Editorial Perspectives

  • When Rajendra Pal Gautam consistently makes anti-Hindu statements, why hasn’t strict action been taken against him thus far? If a single statement is made against Islam, Muslims directly take the law into their hands but Hindus do not and will not do that. Still no action is taken against such anti-Hindus, it is shameful for all party rulers.
  • Rajendra Pal Gautam refrains from making statements about what occurs in mosques, madarasas or churches because he is aware of the potential consequences.
