Hubballi (Karnataka) – “I will take steps to distribute the wealth of the Nation to you (Muslims). I assure you I will not allow injustice to you at any cost,” declared Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Congress Government in the State, during a convention of Muslim religious leaders. However, BJP has strongly criticised Chief Minister’s statement.
BJP leader R Ashoka expressed his disapproval, stating, “This statement made by the Chief Minister is inappropriate for the State and the country. What happened after embracing and celebrating Tipu Sultan before this ? Hindus are being treated as second (lower) class citizens by them (Congress). Congress is very religious fanatic. Siddaramaiah is also a religious fanatic. The Chief Minister should refrain from using terms like ‘minority’, ‘majority’. They are engaging in appeasement politics. If the Chief Minister works for the people by providing good governance and eradicating corruption, all communities will like it. Currently, people are not receiving adequate healthcare, sufficient electricity, Government assistance for those who attempt suicide or proper compensation”.
