Gangster Rohit Godara takes responsibility

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi met a tragic end when he was fatally shot at his house in Shyam Nagar. The 3 assailants arrived on a motorcycle. Upon opening fire on Sukhdev Singh, his bodyguards retaliated, resulting in the death of one assailant, while security guard Ajit Singh sustained injuries. The remaining two assailants fled the scene on a woman’s scooty. Sukhdev Singh, struck by two bullets, was swiftly taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The Police Commissioner identified the deceased assailant as Naveen Shekhawat and confirmed that authorities are actively searching for the other two perpetrators. Meanwhile, gangster Rohit Godara has claimed responsibility for the murder; however, the motive behind this tragic incident remains unclear.

The assailants had come outside Sukhdev Singh’s house around 1:30 in the afternoon. They approached the security guard on duty and asked him about meeting Sukhdev Singh. After receiving the nod to go ahead, 3 individuals’ entry was registered. Subsequently, the trio engaged in a conversation with Sukhdev Singh for roughly 10 minutes before unexpectedly opening fire on him. Simultaneously, they targeted the security guard who rushed to shield Sukhdev Singh. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, one assailant lost his life, while a security guard sustained injuries. Since the deceased assailant had the key to the motorcycle, the remaining two perpetrators intercepted a woman riding a scooty nearby and absconded with her vehicle. The Police disclosed that the deceased assailant, Naveen Singh Shekhawat, was the owner of a clothing shop.

A bullet should be met with a bullet – MLA T Raja Singh

Regarding the murder of Sukhdev Singh, T Raja Singh, BJP’s devout Hindu MLA from Bhagyanagar, stated, “An investigation should delve into the identity of the killer, their motives in targeting Sukhdev Singh, who was actively advocating for the ban on cow slaughter. In my view, the bullet of these criminals should be responded with a bullet”.

Possibility of a big gang behind the murder – Suraj Pal Ammu, Chief, Rajput Karni Sena

Rajput Karni Sena Chief Suraj Pal Ammu said, “There is a possibility of a big gang behind this. It is also possible that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is involved. This murder is due to politics. Sukhdev Singh had earlier met State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and requested Police protection. He was then granted security for 2 days and then the security was withdrawn”. Sukhdev Singh had slapped Sanjay Leela Bhansali while opposing the film ‘Padmavat’

In 2012, Lokendra Singh Kalvi appointed Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi as the State President of Rajput Karni Sena. Gogamedi contested assembly elections twice on behalf of the Bahujan Samaj Party. However, following a dispute with Kalvi, Gogamedi established an independent organisation named ‘Rashtriya Shri Rajput Karni Sena.’ In 2018, Sukhdev Singh sought an election ticket from the BJP, but the party did not grant him the ticket. Notably, Sukhdev Singh garnered attention when he slapped the renowned film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the shooting of the film ‘Padmavati’, vehemently opposing its content. Consequently, the producers altered the film’s title to ‘Padmaavat’.
