Israel-Hamas war resumes after ceasefire

Tel Aviv (Israel) – The ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Hamas ended on 1st December and the war has started again between these two. Israel fired a missile at the town of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, while Hamas fired a missile at parts of Israel. The Israeli military said the ceasefire ended at 7 a.m. on 1st December Hamas launched an attack half an hour later. Hamas claims that Israel attacked first.

A ceasefire was agreed between Israel and Hamas on 24th November. During this period, Hamas released 100 Israeli hostages, while Israel released 240 Palestinians. Freed civilians from both sides include women and children. Hamas still holds 140 Israeli hostages. Qatar and Egypt made efforts to extend the ceasefire through the mediation, but they were not successful. Israel has made it clear that after the ceasefire it will attack Hamas with full force and will not stop until Hamas is completely destroyed.

We have vowed to end Hamas – Prime Minister Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that we will stop our operations in Gaza only after the complete destruction of Hamas. After meeting with Blinken in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said, ‘We have sworn to eliminate Hamas, and no one can stop us from doing so’.
