Ottawa (Canada) – ‘India-Canada relations are better than September. India’s biggest concern is that some Canadian citizens are using Canadian soil to launch attacks on India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Security of Indian diplomats and other officials is our top priority’, Sanjay Verma, Indian High Commissioner to Canada, said in an interview to a local news channel. Verma added that India and Canada are working to improve relations, as well as increase diplomatic presence in each other’s countries. India has resumed e-Visa service for Canadian citizens.

Canada should submit evidence

In response to a question, Sanjay Verma said, ‘India was blamed for the murder of Khalistani Hardeep Singh Nijjar even without any investigation. Is this the rule of law ? Following this, India was asked to cooperate in the investigation. However, we have always said that give us something specific and relevant, and we’ll look into it’.

Verma added that the Government of India has given many documents to Canada against Khalistani terrorists. There are evidences that they have committed crimes in India and Canada. (On one hand, Canadian Government blames India for Nijjar’s murder while on the other hand it supports Khalistanis. This shows Canadian Government’s double standards ! – Editor)

Editorial Perspective

On what basis is Verma making such statements ? How can India-Canada improve relations while Khalistanis gherao and threaten to attack Hindu temples and still Canada is not taking any action against them ?
