London (Britain) – The world benefitted due to India buying oil from Russia during the war between Russia and Ukraine. If India had not done then, it would have made oil market unsteady and increased the inflation. At this time, India steadied the oil and gas markets and assisted in stopping the inflation. Hence the world must be thankful to India instead of criticising it, expressed the Minister of External Affairs Jaishankar to bring the critics to their senses. He was addressing a conference here. The US and European nations have laid many restrictions on Russia. Hence no one could purchase oil from Russia. In such circumstances, India disregarded the restrictions and purchased the oil from Russia, sold to European nations. Therefore India had to bear criticism. Jaishankar was expressing this background.
