Interference in India’s internal matters is the cause of sending back Canadian diplomats

India has proof of support through the easy issue of Visa and financial aid to stage farmers’ stir

New Delhi – The Canadian Government has been spreading venom against India because India asked their 41 diplomats to leave. India has taken the step of withdrawing 41 diplomats due to concerns about continuous interference in the country’s affairs by Canadian personnel.  India has factual proof of the same, based on which the decision was taken.

A Hindi news channel, claiming to get information from reliable Government sources, has said that Canadian diplomats misused their powers in various commercial embassies in Chandigarh and many areas of Punjab.

They were also extra-lenient in issuing Canadian visas to people with criminal backgrounds or supporters of Khalistani terrorists. The Visa procedure was relaxed to strengthen Khalistani issues.

The Canadian officers also played an important role in creating an adverse atmosphere against the three laws proposed to be passed by the Indian Government related to agriculture. They were directly or indirectly involved in the process of creating people’s views against the proposed Farmer laws. Huge finances were provided to a few Indians from Canada, inciting them to oppose the proposed Farmer Laws.

Meetings were held continuously in the offices of the Punjab Government, however, some people had a doubt about the ulterior motives of the officers, and they, time and again, provided information to the Intelligence agencies. The Indian Government has, therefore, taken a decision to send back 41 Canadian diplomats after giving it a lot of consideration.

On the 22nd of October 2023, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar stated that India had proof of the Canadian Government interfering in India’s internal matters. The important information in this regard has not yet been made public. The Indians will, however, realise the reasons for taking action after the relevant information is brought forth at the appropriate time.

Editorial Perspective

It was necessary to take such a step against Canada’s attempts to destabilise India. Now, India should show similar guts by dissociating with Canada for all trade.
